All of the Hindi language courses are designed to develop both linguistic competency and cultural competency. Moreover, they are highly interactive and encourage students to learn 'by doing', that is, by actively applying skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Michigan State University regularly offers two years of Hindi instruction:

| LL 251 | Section 2 | Intermediate Hindi | fall |
| LL 252 | Section 2 | Intermediate Hindi | spring |
Third-year Hindi or High Intermediate Hindi (LL301 and LL302) may be arranged, depending on student demand.
