1. At least 30 credits in linguistics courses, including:

At least sixteen of the credits earned for the MA degree must be in courses numbered 800.
2. Plan A (Thesis) 4 credits of LIN 899 Masters Thesis Research, preparation of a thesis, followed by an oral examination.
Plan B (Exam) Written examination in an approved area of applied or theoretical linguistics.
3. Minimum 3.2 grade-point average, with no grade below 3.0 in more than two courses. Minimum grade of 3.0 in the four courses listed above.
