Zi-Shin (Mia) Lin

TESOL MA Student

Mia is from Taipei, Taiwan(R.O.C.). After graduating from Foreign Languages and Literature Department of Tunghai University, she worked as an English teacher for two senior high schools for three years. Mia obtained her teaching certificate in Taiwan. She is looking forward to earning her master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in MSU. In her senior year of college, she studied at the University of Indianapolis, Indiana, as an exchange student for a semester. This experience sparked her interest in delving into American culture and English language in America. Besides, she is an outgoing optimist full of a sense of responsibility as well as always enjoys helping others. For instance, she was elected as the class leader of her class, the goodwill ambassador of her school, and the leader of the student council of school. Most importantly, her research interests include teaching methods, teaching media, interlanguage, sociolinguistics, and task-based language teaching.
