Cristina Schmitt’s principal interest is in first language acquisition and comparative syntax-semantic issues. The work focus on the acquisition of functional and semi-functional morphology, syntax and semantics and also on the role of the input in language acquisition. Particularly she is interested in variation and variability in the input and its effects in the acquisition of grammar.
